After several years of traveling to Italy, I decided to try France and what a great experience it turned out to be.
We went two weeks in the beginning of July last summer. The weather was amazing and so was everything else.
We lived right on the shore of the river of Adeche. An outstanding river which likewise I have never seen other places. The water was clean enough for us to bathe in and the small village next to us gave us a fine choice between several dining options.
Although we were not the only tourists there the village and the area did not seem overcrowded and it was possible to find places in the village or in the amazing nature that seemed totally untouched by people/tourists.
I will at any time recommend a trip to Provence.
